In my opinion, the combination of quantity and quality makes hot springs village golf comparable to anywhere in the u.s. If you're seriously considering it as a retirement place i'd start the search there. Especially when throwing in affordability. Until i play another course this bad, it is truly the worst course in the basin!! Roads, cart paths, greens, bunkers, fairways, rough, tee boxes are all just broken, destroyed or worse!
